Using information technology to address the tobacco epidemic

My program of research has a unique focus on the use of informatics for cancer prevention and control, specifically the treatment of nicotine dependence. My work has demonstrated that integrating current evidence for the prevention and treatment of nicotine dependence with creative and thoughtful use of information technology has substantial potential to address the tobacco epidemic. Empowering the consumer to adopt a tobacco-free lifestyle through the creative use of interactive technology to deliver theoretically sound health education is a focal point of my research.
