The IU Center for Health Services & Outcomes Research (IU CHSOR) is an IUPUI campus-wide Center was established in 2004 with a mission of continually improving healthcare delivery and advancing the science of translating research into practice. CHSOR is the campus home of sixteen faculty members and a trusted local and national resource for fostering learning about process improvement methods, implementation and dissemination, to accelerate and transform healthcare organizations and networks. Our unique position as an IUPUI and Regenstrief Institute, Inc. campus center, and partnership with the Indianapolis VA HSR&D CIEBP allows us to collaborate with an interdisciplinary group of healthcare partners, including all six Indianapolis metro area hospital systems and many others. The IU CHSOR is the fastest growing Regenstrief Institute program and includes the AHRQ ACTION Collaborative, IU Assertive Community Treatment and IU Center for the Assessement, Mechanisms and Management of Pain, and the translating research into practice program of IU Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute (NIH proposal). The VA HSR&D Center on Implementing Evidence-Based Practice (CIEBP) was designated a national VA HSR&D Center of Excellence in June 2004. The mission of the Center is to advance the science of transforming the health care system, both within and outside the VA health care system. Our vision is to become the leading national research resource for learning about health systems transformation. Our strategy is to partner with managers, clinicians, patients and researchers in interdisciplinary teams to innovate, foster system redesign and drive broad scale adoption of changes to improve care delivery. Dr. Doebbeling represents the interests of our campus partners at the national level of the Veterans Health Administration through serving on the VHA Informatics Research Consortium leadership and VA National System Redesign Steering Committee.
