2022 Annual Keynote featuring Indiana University President Pamela Whitten
The IUPUI Center for Translating Research Into Practice (TRIP) was honored to host Indiana University President Pamela Whitten as our Keynote speaker. On February 25, 2022 from 12 noon to 1 p.m., a hybrid event was held at the Herron School of Art + Design Basile Auditorium and shared virtually via a Zoom webinar. During this event, President Whitten discussed her experiences as a research faculty member focused on telemedicine, new technologies and communication, and the social impacts and effects of health technologies. She also examined the evolution of collaborative translational research projects from their initial acceptance and application to the analysis of their efficacy and outcomes. Lastly, President Whitten shared her vision for translational research at Indiana University and on the IUPUI campus in the years to come.

Keynote Introductions were presented by Stephan Viehweg, Associate Director of the IUPUI Center for TRIP, and Life-Health Sciences Intern, Anna Comer. Chancellor Emeritus and Executive Director for the IUPUI Center for TRIP, Charles R. Bantz, and Professor Emeritus and Founder of the IUPUI Center for TRIP, Sandra Petronio, gave welcoming remarks as well.

Q&A during the Keynote
IUPUI student volunteers helped the Keynote run smoothly. Anna Comer is a third year student double majoring in Communication Studies and English with a concentration in Linguistics and double minoring in Computer Science and Policy Studies. She is also an Honors Scholar, an intern through the Life Health Sciences Internship program, and a Peer Health Educator through the IUPUI Office for Health and Wellness Promotion. Ana Danner is a Top 100 student and a senior studying biology, neurosicence, and psychology. She will attend IU School of Medicine in Fort Wayne next fall. Caroline Dunbar is also a Top 100 student and a senior studying neurosicence. She plans to attend the IU School of Medicine after graduation.
