The 2022 IUPUI Center for TRIP Fall Showcase and Awards Program, hosted at the IUPUI Campus Center on October 19, 2022, had nearly 60 attendees (in-person and online). Brief welcome remarks were provided by Interim IUPUI Chancellor Andrew Klein, IUPUI Chancellor Emeritus and Executive Director of the IUPUI Center for TRIP, Charles R. Bantz, and Associate Director of the IUPUI Center for TRIP, Stephan Viehweg. Then, Amy Conrad Warner, the Vice Chancellor of the IUPUI Center for Community Engagement presented Professor Lahny Silva with the 2022 Bantz Community Fellowship Award. Stephan Viehweg presented Professor Richard Brandon-Friedman with the 2022 Bantz Community Scholar Award. The Bantz Community Awards were artistically crafted by Christina Hollering, a faculty member at the Herron School of Art + Design and Patrick Bennett, a recent graduate from the Herron School of Art + Design Grad Program.
Charles R. Bantz presented Dr. Todd Skaar with his award. Then, Dr. Todd Skaar, the 2022 Bantz-Petronio TRIP Award recipient, gave a feature presentation about his research entitled "Genomic Medicine: Translating Genetic Discoveries into Clinical Care." After the award ceremony, event attendees talked with other TRIP Faculty Scholars about their research and the meaningful impact that it has in local and distant communities.
